COACHING STAFF

Coach Caserio is entering his 16th season and has the longest tenure of any other coach at Gilbert High School. He is the all-time leader in wins and has an overall record of 282 - 134. Under Coach Caserio's direction, the Tigers have won Region titles, have earned a #2 ranking into the state tournament with two semi-finalist appearances, and have been to the quarter-finals or better in 6 out of his 10 years and taking home the 5A State Championship in 2018-19. Coach Caserio has also been named coach of the year in the Fiesta Region and by the East Valley Tribune three times and in Section 1 of Division in the 2014 season and in 5A during the 2018-19 campaign with an overall record of 29-1.

Coach Caserio graduated from Northern Michigan University, and earned his Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. He teaches Honors Biology at Gilbert and is in his 22nd year of teaching. He has been married to his wife Christy for 21 years. They have two daughters, Madison (18) and Meisha (16) and two sons, Crew (11) and Tripp (8).

Coach Caserio is passionate about coaching, teaching the details of the game and the daily process of what it takes to be successful. Coach Caserio and the Tiger coaching staff are excited for the upcoming season as they return with a young but determined team.
 

Coach "Newey" is excited to start his 9th season at Gilbert High School. He has spent the past 30+ years coaching at Red Mountain, Mountain View and Mesa High Schools.

He grew up in a coaching and basketball family. He has also spent the past 15+ years coaching on the national AAU circuit, as well as running many youth leagues and tournaments in the valley.

His father is also a well-known coach in Arizona winning a state championship with Mesa High.

Coach Newendyke has four sons, Greg, Paul, Steven and Scotty and you can either find him in a gym or spending time with his sons.
 

This will be Coach Myles 12th year coaching at Gilbert High School. Coach Myles has been a coach for 21 years on the AAU\Club circuit.

Currently coaching Club Basketball for Arizona Firestorm. He moved to Arizona 14 years ago from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was born and raised.

Coach Myles brings dedication and knowledge to the Tigers Basketball Program.
 

Coach “Stevie” Newendyke is entering his second year with Gilbert High School as a Coach and is very excited to rejoin the Tiger Program. He is a former player of the Tiger Program who is passionate about basketball and enjoys all facets of the game.

Coach Newendyke, through his personal experience, understands that basketball is a tool to help develop the players not only into better basketball players, but into better young men.

He has been coaching at the High School level for the past 4 years within the East Valley. He also currently coaches Prime Basketball AZ on the club circuit and has coached club for 4 Years.
 

Coach James is entering his fifth year with Gilbert High School and grateful to be part of the Tiger Program! He has a great passion and love for the game of basketball and teaching the fundamentals of the game. 

Coach James believes the game of basketball can be a platform to build on work ethic, positive attitude and teamwork to help our student athletes in the classroom, on the court and with their future goals in life. 

He has been coaching at the High School level for the past 9 years within the East valley area along with coaching in the club circuit level for the past 19 years in Arizona & New Mexico.

Coach James has two boys- Cameron, Braden along with two girls Kelsey Ella James.
